Terms of service

These Terms are an agreement between you (the parent or legal guardian) and [COMPANY LEGAL NAME] (“we”, “us”) for use of Masomo (the “Service”).

1. Eligibility and accounts

• You must be at least 18 and the parent or legal guardian of any child who uses the Service.
• You are responsible for your account, your password and your 4-digit parent PIN, and for supervising your children's use.
• Children use the Service only through child profiles you create. Children may not create accounts.

2. Free trial

• Each child gets their own free trial when you add them. No payment card is required to start.
• One free trial per verified phone number.
• At the end of a child's trial, you must add a payment method for that child to continue. If you don't, that child's learning sessions pause; your data remains available (subject to our retention policy).

3. Subscriptions and billing

• Subscriptions are priced per child, billed monthly or annually, at the price shown on our pricing page and at checkout.
• Each child has their own subscription and is billed separately. You choose which children to pay for; ending one child's plan does not affect the others.
• Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period until you cancel. For annual plans we will remind you by email before renewal.
• Payments are processed by Stripe. If prices change, we will email you at least 60 days before the new price applies to your subscription, and you may cancel before then.
• Discounts and promotional codes are subject to their stated terms.

4. Cancellation and refunds

• Cancel anytime for any child in Parent area → Billing. Monthly plans end at the close of the current month. Annual plans end at the close of the current month, and the remaining full months are refunded.
• Monthly plans: no refunds. You keep access until the end of the month you paid for.
• Annual plans: if you cancel, we refund the unused full months remaining in your annual term, calculated pro rata from the price you paid.

5. Educational content and AI

• Practice questions and hints are created with the help of artificial intelligence and are validated for accuracy and age-appropriateness. Despite our efforts, content may occasionally contain errors. Report issues through our contact form.
• The Service supports learning; it does not replace a child's school, teacher or professional evaluation. We make no guarantee of specific academic outcomes.
• Curriculum alignment references standards owned by third parties (see Section 10).

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to: misuse or disrupt the Service; attempt unauthorized access; scrape or copy content; reverse engineer; share accounts outside your household; or use the Service for any unlawful purpose.

7. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect and use information, including children's information under COPPA.

8. Intellectual property

The Service, including questions, hints, illustrations, Zizi the owl tutor character and software, is owned by us or our licensors. We grant you a limited, personal, non-transferable license to use the Service for your household's non-commercial educational use.

9. Termination

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms. You may delete your account at any time in Parent area → Account → Privacy.
